Welcome to the Palm Beach Tree House, an upmarket 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom holiday home situated in the trees above Palm Beach on Auckland’s favourite destination spot, Waiheke Island. This modern and well appointed property enjoys fantastic indoor/outdoor living across two levels, plus the added convenience of a vehicle during your stay! Who says pet ownership can’t be glamorous when you have dog friendly accommodation like this on offer?

You don’t need to skimp on luxury here – with expansive windows to bring the peaceful scenery indoors, you can cozy up in front of the fireplace in winter, or in summer wander onto the generous deck for dining al fresco. Fire up the BBQ, relax in the spa and socialise with friends, family and your pooch while soaking up the incredible views.

With space for up to 6 people, bring your favourite crew and spend the weekend exploring everything Waiheke Island has to offer. While dogs are prohibited during the day on most popular Waiheke beaches during high summer, you are still able to exercise your pup before 10am and after 6pm, which means you can both avoid the harsh midday NZ sun anyway. So why not start the day with a coffee and a stroll along your local Palm Beach, then head toward the many dog friendly nature walks around the island.

One of the most popular trails on Waiheke is the Waiheke Island Short Loop, which leaves from Matiatia Wharf. It is a 5.5 kilometre moderately trafficked loop trail that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels, taking you past some beautiful clifftop views and is also great for bird watching. Dogs are welcome on this trail on lead only. Make sure you check out more on this walk here: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/new-zealand/auckland/waiheke-island-short-loop

If you’re after a more intensive hike, try the Southern Walk which takes you from Matiatia Wharf, through Church Bay and Oneroa. A decent 8.2 kilometres, this trail will be sure to please the most #fitspo of your group. Again, keep dogs on a lead both to keep our wildlife safe but also to keep your pooch away from steep cliffs. https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/new-zealand/auckland/southern-walk-matiatia-church-bay-oneroa

If wining and dining is more your style – you’ll find plenty of dog friendly vineyards around the island, including Tantalus, Goldie, Stonyridge and Mudbrick. We recommend phoning ahead to give them a heads up you will be bringing your furry friend, and make sure you keep Fido happy and under control with a blanket to sit on and some treats to keep him entertained. Hands down, the most dog friendly winery on Waiheke has got to be Man O’ War Winery, situated on the tranquil eastern end of the island, right next to a dogs permitted beach! This beautiful winery has a wonderful ambience with lush green parkland and lots of tables in the sunshine or shade to relax and indulge with your pooch by your side.
