Dunedin dog lovers’ if you’re not obsessing over this spot already, now’s the time to get amongst it! Introducing… the Long Dog: A Dunedin based cafe and eatery with views out to St Clair Beach and beyond. Sitting atop the infamous St Clair Hot Salt Water Pools, Long Dog is the one doggie hangout sure to impress this Summer.
With doors opening at 6:30am Monday to Friday and at 7:30am on the weekend, the humble team of baristas and chefs at Long Dog work hard to have delicious, freshly baked scones, pinwheels and cabinet food out to eat before the sun rises. They even have doggie treats for your pup on hand with a percentage of the proceeds donated to Dunedin Dog Rescue – amazing!
Oliver the resident dog is also on hand to babysit any pups that are willing to join him whilst their paw-rent enjoys a coffee over breakfast or lunch. (FYI – Oliver is Long Dog’s newest concrete sculpture with clips so you can safely secure your pups leash, letting them mix and mingle with the other pups hanging out with Oliver!)

With a cabinet boasting the best quick cafe eats in town, sit back, relax and see if you can spot any seals swimming in the surf!
