Situated in the heart of Oriental Bay sits the retro and totally funky Beach Babylon – Wellington’s very own doggie diner (and human diner too, but that’s less important). Beach Babylon serves brunch, lunch and dinner, and the best part is your dog is more than catered for too!
If 70’s Palm Springs is your vibe, you’ll love Beach Babylon with it’s kitsch decor and casual atmosphere. Our favourite part about this place is the full menu tailored especially for our canine friends. From doggacinos to deluxe mince to a full meat platter, your pup will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining here. What’s more, the staff here absolutely adore dogs, so make sure your mate is fully prepared for a heap of attention.
We recommend booking in advance, as Beach Babylon is a hugely popular spot for locals and can pack out crazy quick – we definitely see why! Tuck into their lengthy food menu, which boasts delicious burgers, quesadillas, anything-but-basic eggs and even fondue! Or, soak up the sun and nurse a cheeky beverage and small bites while enjoying the harbour view. However you dine at Beach Babylon, you will be sure to have a whale of a time, and so will your dog!
We absolutely love that these guys are also making a conscious effort to minimise damage to our environment by composting scraps and using (where necessary) recyclable straws, fair trade Peoples coffee and biodegradable packaging.
